Flotsomancy is a psychic reading of the tide, answering questions from viewers live on Instagram. Melissa Brown and I developed the technique during quarantine as a combination of the Tide Taxi and Melissa’s ‘Bagomancy’ performances at Derek Eller Gallery. The communications vary from desk to boat, beach to beach, and in one case, live on stage at Honey’s in Brooklyn.
